For the seventh and final Photo assignment I chose to shoot shadows and light. I chose to do this subject because I think that with different light and shadows effects, subjects can look very interesting and different, it can make a composition look more interesting, it is also very fun to play around with lights to find the perfect look for the best outcome. I chose this as my best photo because I love how beautiful the light looks reflected from the crystal, it created a rainbow. I also liked how balanced it turned out with the shadows surround my hand and the crystal, really giving it more focus.

For this photoshop assignment we teamed up into groups of three and shot portraits of one another using two different methods we learned about. First we shot the portraits using window lighting, where out subject stood next to a window and a helper stood next to them holding a while sheet of paper that was used to reflect the light onto the other side of the subject. The second method was in a "studio" with the studio lights and plain backdrop already set up prior to shooting.
For this week's photo assignment I decided to take advantage of the warmer weather and went on a walk to get some nice shots of nature. I really enjoyed shooting this subject because it was a different experience to shooting pictures indoors (like all my other assignments), there were so many different things to shoot and I tried to capture them from interesting angles and I think they turned out great. While I was walking on a trail at the park I came across this leaf that resembled a heart, so I decided to shoot it with the rule of thirds and got this really great looking picture that I chose as my best for this week's assignment.
For this weeks photoshop assignment we we're given the freedom to pick any photoshop tutorial online and create something using the steps provided. I chose a tutorial on double exposure and blending different pictures into one, I also added my own twist to my work by adding two different pictures into the first one for an even cooler effect. I used the picture of the two girls as a background, and I used the double exposure effect to add the street with the palm trees over it, I also duplicated the second image and changed the hue and saturation to get the orange sky looking one on the left. Here are some other Creations I did on my spare time: For this week's assignment I decided to shoot some pictures I thought would look good with the black and white effect, I also thought it would be a nice idea to revisit some old pictures I shot for different assignments that would fit this category nicely, it was a good opportunity to see how different effects can make a composition look different. I originally shot this picture for a still life assignment, from the moment I took this I already knew it would look very cool with the black and white effect, so I turned down the saturation all the way and played around with shadows and highlights to get some nice contrast and a good looking picture, I'm happy with how this turned out overall.
For this photoshop assignment we went around the school to shoot multiple pictures of the same scenario, and then merging them together in photoshop to create this cool panoramic effect. In this assignment I learned how these pictures are made, I learned the basics of taking these pictures, like having a stable base (tripod or even a table), putting the camera settings on manual, and some photoshop layers tricks. This is my third photo shooting assignment, and this week I decided to photograph macro, or things very up close. My subjects were a mixture of small objects and candles that I thought would look very cool if I shot them up close. Some of them really showed texture in high detail, and others had some cool light effects, I enjoyed this subject but I definitely would have looked for more variety of things to take pictures of if I had more time. I think this is my favorite picture that I shot for this subject, I like how my fingers framed the candle, creating some more emphasis around it, and I also like the way the light reflects on my hand, it balances nicely with the rest of the darker composition.
For this assignment we we're sent out to shoot pictures of the school and then photoshop it into an interesting scenery. I chose to photograph two lion statues that I found in the library and turned them into a huge waterfall. |
