For this assignment we we're sent out to shoot pictures of the school and then photoshop it into an interesting scenery. I chose to photograph two lion statues that I found in the library and turned them into a huge waterfall.

For my third shooting assignment I chose to take pictures of my dog Tiffany. She was my subject throughout the whole shoot, I don't own any other animals. I think this week's assignment was very fun and a little bit challenging because obviously, dogs won't always sit still just the way you want them to, I had to bring out her favorite blanket, some toys, and obviously some treats to get her to cooperate, but it was a great experience overall. I chose this as my best picture, I love how it turned out overall, Tiffany is sitting right at one of the thirds of the composition and that really helps draw attention to her in this photo, especially because she stands out compared to the colors around her and the bear.
For this assignment we were given a photo taken by a previous student of a nice looking red car, although it was a good picture, it could still use some improvements and touch ups using photoshop, which is exactly what we did in this assignment. To alter this image I used a variety of tools, including cropping, adjusting levels, stamp tool, selecting certain areas and recoloring & tinting. I think overall it turned out very nicely, and I look forward to upcoming photoshop assignments.
This was our very first class shooting assignment. We learned about elements of composition for photography and then went out to shoot examples of them. During this assignment I learned about the elements and the role they play in the composition of a photo, it has definitely taught me to take better looking pictures. On the pictures above I shot examples of balance, color, depth of field, framing, line, pattern, perspective, rule of thirds, space, symmetry, and texture (in order).
For this week's photo assignment I chose to shoot still life. For my subjects I found a few random looking objects around the house, from necklaces to pencils, books and even a small globe. I had fun with this assignment, I tried to really work to find interesting angles when shooting these pictures, and I think that's really what makes them look pretty good. I chose this picture as my best. My subject was a gold cat necklace, I hung it on my hands and tried to shoot it in the rule of thirds. Since the cat's color stands out from my hands and it is placed in the bottom right corner, it draws attention.
For this week's assignment I chose to shoot food, mainly snacks. I shot these pictures throughout the weekend, most during the day where I could get the best natural lighting possible. While shooting this assignment I learned that it's fun and helpful to play around with the composition of the subjects, in this case I tried to shoot them in creative ways or in a specific background where my subjects could stand out better. I think this photo turned out very nicely, I was torn between this and a few other similar ones as my favorite pick, but I ended up picking this one because I like how the contrast and the placement of my subject turned out. To get the light effect over the candy cane I filled a round glass cup with water, and then put some red food coloring in it to make it pink, I then turned on my phone flashlight and placed in on top of the the glass and noticed I got this nice effect, so I decided to work with that to create more emphasis and contrast on my photo.
In this assignment we created a portrait in the style of Andy Warhol.
I first chose and cropped a picture of myself, and then adjusted it so that it looked black and white. I then opened a new file where I pasted the picture four times each on every corner of the square, and changed the hue and saturation differently with each one to create a different color effect, and this was the end result. Hi! My name is Gabby Barbosa and I am a Sophomore at Saline High School and I am currently taking Digital Photography. I was born and raised in Brazil, I moved to the USA in 2011 with my parents and dog, Tiffany (also I'm an only child). If you can't tell already, I'm definitely a Disney child, I've been to the Disney Parks 13 times, I usually go 2-3 times a year!
I decided to take this class simply because I love photography and wanted to get better at it. I've never taken any classes, but my mom has some good cameras and takes some great shots and she likes help me sometimes. I definitely hope to improve my skills by the end of the Trimester. |
