When I first walked into this class I was hoping to learn more about photos and how to create beautiful pictures, I sure learned that. Throughout the trimester we learned about some elements of composition that altogether help create a nice looking picture; these include: line, symmetry, color, balance, pattern texture, framing, perspective, and space. Other things we learned include camera settings such as: aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and manual focus. I think these were the basics of the camera, and something you should definitely know if you're looking into taking better pictures. We also learned about the rule of thirds right off the bat, I think this piece of information was the key element that helped me improve my pictures greatly. Here are some examples of my pictures that depict the rule of thirds: I definitely have had my share of bad pictures taken throughout the class, some of them didn't have the proper settings like ISO, and white balance so they looked very fuzzy. They also didn't have the elements of composition used properly to create a nice, pleasing looking photo.. But some pictures I think looked very good and high quality with the right settings and elements of composition applied. These are some examples: Besides learning about photos, we also learned a lot about photoshop in this class, which I really liked! We learned how to edit pictures using levels, stamp tool, layer masks and other settings such as clarity, vibrance, and saturation. I think I created some really awesome stuff on our photoshop assignments: This class definitely increased my passion for photography, I feel like I really know what I'm doing whenever I go out to take pictures, and I know I can make my pictures look good. It was a fun experience and I hope to take advanced photography some time in the future! Finally, here are some of my favorite pictures taken during this class!
